Kelly is the friendly face behind the scenes at Budget Blinds, ensuring everything runs smoothly as the office manager. Originally from Gunnison, she has lived all over Colorado but found that Montrose is the perfect place to call home. With a strong background in administration, personal assistance, and marketing management, she brings organization, efficiency, and a keen eye for detail to the team.

When she’s not keeping things running at Budget Blinds, Kelly enjoys spending time with her 5-year-old daughter and their dog, taking bike rides, going for walks to the park, and exploring all that the Western Slope has to offer. She loves meeting new people and being part of a close-knit community, which makes her a perfect fit for Budget Blinds’ customer-focused approach.

Welcome to Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado, where we have beautiful mountain views that we love looking at through windows adorned with our amazing Blinds and Window Treatments! Here at our Budget Blinds branch, we love recognizing all of the great team members that make us who we are—and that’s why we’re going to take some time today to recognize Rory Murphey.

Rory is one of our Design Consultants, having started here in July of 2019—and she brings so many great things to our team. She’s got encyclopedic knowledge of our products, which gives her the ability to make fantastic recommendations, help customers solve problems and create fresh new designs, and find the most stylish solutions possible. She also has fantastic customer service skills, and she loves meeting new people. All of that is what makes this an ideal role for her—there’s lots of variety, and according to her, you get a different experience every day.

Rory has spent her life enjoying the western slopes. She grew up in Gunnison and Cedar Edge, and these days, she lives in the area with her husband, a one-year-old daughter, a five-year-old son, and two dogs.

When she’s not here at work with us, you can find her spending time with her family and friends. She also loves cooking, reading—and of course, being outdoors in our beautiful landscape.

We're thrilled to introduce you to the maestro of our operations, the orchestrator of excellence, and the embodiment of leadership - Carter Murphey, our remarkable General Manager! Since joining our family last year, Carter's impact has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Carter's exceptional skills go beyond his title - he's a visionary, a master organizer, and a communication guru. His ability to steer our team toward greatness is truly remarkable, infusing every project and interaction with his passion for excellence. With an unwavering commitment to top-notch customer service, Carter's dedication knows no bounds. His drive is infectious, igniting a spark within each team member to deliver their best.

Though born in the heart of Houston, Carter's journey led him all over the nation. It was destiny that brought him to Montrose in 2019, along with his loving wife, Rory. The picturesque landscapes and tight-knit community captured their hearts, making Montrose their cherished home.

Beyond the office, Carter finds joy in the culinary arts, crafting delectable dishes and perfecting his grill game with tantalizing recipes. Family comes first for Carter - he cherishes quality time with his wife, Rory, their spirited 5-year-old son, Kobe, and their adorable 18-month-old daughter, Vivian. And when the football hits the turf, you'll find Carter right there, soaking in the excitement of a football-filled day.

Carter's thirst for knowledge led him to graduate from Western State Colorado University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, a testament to his commitment to growth and development.

Let's give a big round of applause to our amazing Installer, Amber Farr, who joined our Budget Blinds family on September 9, 2021!

Amber brings an incredible set of skills to our team, making her an invaluable asset. She's hardworking, an excellent communicator, incredibly reliable, and always punctual. These qualities make her the go-to person for delivering top-notch service to our cherished customers.

One of the things Amber loves most about her job is the ever-changing scenery. Her office isn't confined to four walls; it's the beautiful homes and landscapes across Montrose and Telluride. She thrives on meeting new people, and she's especially fond of the adorable furry friends she encounters during her installations.

While Amber didn't grow up in our service area, she's become an integral part of the Montrose community since she moved here a few years ago. Her dedication to our region and her passion for the outdoors make her a true local gem.

Outside of work, Amber is an adventurous spirit. She enjoys the thrill of riding her dirt bike, shredding the slopes while snowboarding, and finding tranquility through camping and fishing. Her Hunter Douglas certification also reflects her commitment to excellence.
